Chinese Baptist church of Northwest Suburbs has the desire to serve. Each of us has the privilege of getting involved and participating, rather than being idle, because we believe God has shaped each one of us to make a unique contribution to the church and His kingdom.
1. We follow Jesus' example. Jesus said that he came to serve not to be served and we take him as our model and guide.
2. We desire to be a church where everyone is serving as God intended and designed him or her to serve.
Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
3. We also believe that every believer has been given unique interests, talents and spiritual gifts to use to glorify God and build up the church.
Ephesians 4:11-12 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
1 Corinthians 14:12 So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church.
